This system is designed to allow application of Towed vehicle brakes simultaneously with motorhome brake pedal application. It applies brakes on vehicle and releases entirely by use of the motorhome brake pedal without "locking up" or "dragging" the vehicle brakes.

We use industrial grade components from Schrader/Bellows™ for controlled braking. Schrader/Bellows™ is the leader in this equipment and is available nationwide.

Our system does not use the towed vehicle battery for normal braking, thus avoiding a discharged battery.

The system can be placed in several different locations in the towed vehicle. It takes about five (5) minutes to put in service or remove. It's compact in size, has molded cover and handle. It weighs about fifteen (15) pounds.

The rear of the motorhome and front of the towed vehicle have matching sockets with a cord plugged into each to bring necessary power to the vehicle and supplemental brake system from the motorhome.

Next to the towed vehicle power socket is a breakaway switch (standard) with a steel lanyard to hook to the motorhome. This lanyard will pull out of the switch if the towed vehicle detaches from the motorhome and allows very rapid stopping of the towed vehicle. If available, most assist systems use the normal braking feature of their system for breakaway. This can allow a loose towed vehicle to go several hundred feet before stopping. Our breakaway will stop a loose vehicle very quickly.

This system will meet present Canadian and US requirements for towed vehicle weight restrictions. The only standards at this time are as to the amount of weight that can be legally towed behind a motorhome. Some chassis manufacturers, Ford and Chevy, can void their warranty if your towed vehicle without supplemental braking exceeds their restrictions. Others are sure to follow.

Some states are enforcing weight restrictions, as have British Columbia and Ontario, Canada.

If you choose our system for added safety, fine. Before you choose another, determine if they have invaded brake systems. Is breakaway standard? Are all components available nationwide? Could it possibly "lock up" or damage your towed vehicle brakes as some surge systems have? If you want, can you install it easily? There is no need to hire someone to install our system. Our system is owner-friendly and air operated for dependability. Years of confidence are built into it! Ask someone who has a Tow-V-Aire Assist System. We can furnish names of our very pleased owners, some perhaps close to you.
